Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi on Tuesday voiced his country's readiness to broaden mutual cooperation with African nations.

"Iran has a positive attitude towards African states as it has the needed capacities to expand bilateral ties," Qassemi said in a meeting with Managing Director of Ivory Coast News Agency Oumou Barry Sana in Tehran on Tuesday.

He reaffirmed foreign ministry's support to exchange reporters between Iran and Ivory Coast.

Ivory Coast is located in West Africa, which gained independence from France in 1960.

In relevant remarks in October, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Ivorian counterpart Abdallah Toikeusse Mabri in a meeting in Tehran underlined further cooperation and coordination in the fight against the terrorist groups.
