Afghan Minister in Tehran to discuss migrants issue
Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi on Monday held talks with Afghan Minister for Refugees and Repatriation Hossein Alami Balkhi on issues about the Afghan migrants living in Iran.
According to IRNA, The Afghan minister said that Iran and Afghanistan have many historical and cultural affinities.
He said that in negotiations with Iranian officials, he gets sense of a fellow countryman and sincerity.
The two officials also discussed issues to be reviewed during the 3rd Iran-Afghanistan Consular Cooperation Meeting due to be held in Tehran tomorrow (Tuesday).
They expressed hope that Tuesday meeting would be fruitful for both countries.
Millions of Afghan people have migrated to Iran over the past three decades so that nearly three million Afghan refugees are currently living in Iran.
Iran has asked Afghan government to prevent its nationals from illegal cross-border entry into Iran.
