A senior official underlined US President Donald Trump's anger about the nuclear agreement signed between Tehran and the P5+1 shows that Iran has received much advantage from the deal.
"Trump described the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as the worst agreement in the US history and this shows that JCPOA has been beneficial for Iran," Iran's Atomic Energy Organization Spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi said on Tuesday, addressing a ceremony in the northeastern city of Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province.
"Since Trump's coming to power in the US, the debates over JCPOA have increased in international circles which shows the importance of the nuclear agreement," He said.
In relevant remarks in mid-January, Kamalvandi said his country is monitoring the conditions in Washington to see if the new US administration would opt for compliance with the nuclear deal or confrontation with Tehran.
"At present, the other side (the US) has the two options of interaction or confrontation but undoubtedly, the other side cannot decide about the results and consequences of any measure," he said.
"Every one should come to consider this point in his/her calculations that the Islamic Republic of Iran will have reactions appropriate to the behavior and performance of the other side," Iran's Atomic Energy Organization spokesman added.
Kamalvandi warned that if the path of confrontation is selected by the US, Tehran would show a reaction that would make Washington regret its deed.
His remarks came after Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araqchi underlined that the nuclear talks with Washington have ended and the nuclear deal is no more open to renegotiation.
