Afghanistan Deputy Foreign Minister Nassir Ahmad Andisheh said Kabul and Tehran signed a major consular agreement.

According to IRNA, he made the remarks in a joint press press conference with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Hassan Qashqavi in Kabul on Wednesday.

Andisheh said that there were problems from former Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in consular affairs, which were solved, while they reached new agreements, too.

In the third meeting for consular cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan, which ended on Wednesday, a cooperation document was signed on the issues of emigrants, legal protection and diplomatic cooperation.

Andisheh announced intention of both countries' officials to execute fully the agreements and added that every six months the meeting will be held between consular officials of the two countries and once in a year deputy foreign ministers will meet to supervise execution of signed agreements.

According to the agreement, in two months, a list of prisoners who were convicted to capital punishment in Iran and received commuting prison term as well as a list of extraditable prisoners be prepared and exchanged between the two sides, he said.
