Iran, Chile calls for improvement of ties

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif underlined the need for the further strengthening of relations with Chile in different fields.
Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with Vice-President of the Chilean Senate Guido Girardi in Tehran on Tuesday.
During the meeting, he called for the development of relations between the two countries in the cultural, tourism, scientific and technological fields, describing free trade as an instance of good ties between Tehran and Santiago.
Girardi, for his part, said that his trip is aimed at bolstering ties with Iran, and added, "Iran and Chile are important countries in their geographical regions."
Earlier, the Chilean senior senator held a meeting with Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani in Tehran on Monday.
