Iran FM meets Armenian PM in Yerevan

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed mutual cooperation with Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan in Yerevan
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan in a meeting in Yerevan on Tuesday explored avenues for the further broadening of bilateral ties and mutual cooperation, specially in economic fields.
"Economic ties should further develop and Free Trade Zones can create the opportunity to increase such cooperation," Zarif said.
Karapetyan, for his part, stressed the special importance attached by his country to the relations with Iran, and said, "We are interested in boosting cooperation in energy sector and other economic fields as well as cooperation in the Free Zones of Armenia and Iran."
He also announced his country's willingness to pave the ground for Iranian firms to achieve interests in the Eurasian Economic Union through Armenia.
Earlier today, Zarif and his Armenian counterpart Eduard Nalbandyan in a meeting in Yerevan earlier today conferred on ways to expand cooperation between the two countries in the oil and gas sectors and other fields.
