Iran and Syria stress broadening of media cooperation
Iranian Deputy Minister of Culture Mohammad Soltanifar and Chairman of the Syrian Journalists Union Moussa Abdelnour in a meeting in Tehran underlined the need for broadening of bilateral ties in the field of media.
During the meeting in the Iranian capital on Saturday, Soltanifar and Abdelnour explored fields for bolstering and reinvigorating mutual cooperation between the two countries' news agencies and media bodies.
"The media cooperation between Tehran and Damascus was aimed at providing true information about what is going on in Syria," the Iranian deputy culture minister for press affairs said during the meeting.
The chairman of the Syrian Journalists Union, for his part, called for enhancing Syrian-Iranian cooperation and joint actions in the spheres of culture and media.
He also expressed Syrian gratitude for the Iranian support for the anti-terror struggle, in which Damascus is engaged.
In relevant remarks in early January, Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis underlined that his country has prioritized Iranian construction firms in reconstruction of Syria.
The Syrian prime minister expressed his special thanks to the unsparing support of the Iranian government and people for Syria in fighting against terrorism and termed the victories in Syria as a great achievement for the resistance movement.
