  • ‘A Patch of Land’: Iranian pop song with theme of human rights + Voice

Pars Today- Iranian renowned pop singer, Mohammad Esfahani, has a famous song called, ‘A Patch of Land’ which deals with subjects like expulsion of Adam from paradise, importance of people's right, hypocritical worship and free living.

The singer, in this song, speaks of the hard conditions of Prophet Adam's expulsion from paradise after being deceived by Satan, and compares it with violating people's right which is called as "Haqq-un-Nas" (people's right) in the Islamic texts. Then he predicts the much harsher punishment for violating people's right than Adam's expulsion from paradise.

The song, also, points to hypocritical worship and likens it to trade.

The singer, in this song, has touched upon the importance of freedom, free living and not being deceived by swindlers in the world, and reminds that, eventually, all people will be present before God on the Day of Resurrection. So, all should be careful.

The following is the text of the song:

Once Adam ate wheat, he lost paradise overnight,

See the fate of he who violates an iota of people's right!

As for those who robbed all our money,

One day they will smart for that it is no honey!

Worship for fear is no worship for lover,

Worship is for solace, not for trade, no never!

End of love is dying for freedom,

At times, the entire faith is this freedom!

Sitting by an empty tablecloth and a lifetime wishing a lot,

Once you realize you're human, wheat will tempt you a lot!

Let them play and deceive us with the same trick,

God never pardons those who violate rights in a tick!

Those who steal your money in one way or another,

Haply they forget they all die today or the day after!

Too small is this world, and we are all suffering from this pain,

One day all will understand how they have lived with no gain!
