Iran ranks 5th in global nanotechnology production

Pars Today - According to the latest report on Iran's scientific and technological production in the field of nanotechnology in 2023, Iran has ranked 5th in the world in terms of nanotechnology production.

After the Islamic Revolution, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made significant progress in various fields, including science, with 2% of global scientific production taking place in Iran.

According to Pars Today, based on the latest report from the Web of Science (WoS) database, which was used as a source of statistics and information on research articles related to nanotechnology, in 2023, 11,179 articles related to nanotechnology were indexed by Iranian researchers.

This accounts for 4.6% of all nanotechnology articles published in 2023.With this share of nanotechnology publications, Iran has ranked 5th in the world. This achievement is notable, given that Iran had ranked 58th in the world and 6th in West Asia in terms of nanotechnology publications in 2020.

It is worth mentioning that Iran's global ranking in nanotechnology was evaluated based on three major indicators: the quantity of nanotechnology articles, the quality of nanotechnology articles, and the number of nanotechnology inventions.
