  • The people of Gaza; the harsh cold and fierce heat

Pars Today - Scott Anderson, the deputy director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), said: "The increase in temperature has made the fight against disease outbreaks a priority, just like sending food."

The New York Times reported on the difficulties faced by the people of Gaza during the hot season: "When Maryam Arafat, her husband, and their three young children fled their home in Gaza City due to Israeli bombing, it was the peak of winter. This family, who was forced to take refuge in an old tent in Deir al-Balah, shivered in the cold winter nights because there was no fuel for heating and not enough clothes to keep warm. Now, with the change of season, the weather in Gaza has become humid and hot, and the same tent has turned into an unbearable and suffocating place."

Maryam Arafat, 23, who has her son Yahya on her lap, crying out loud due to the intense heat, says: "It's as if the tent is on fire. It's so hot that you can't bear it, especially for children."

Almost two million Palestinians in Gaza have been forced to leave their homes due to the attacks and bombing by the Zionist regime. They suffered greatly from the cold in winter due to the lack of fuel, living in tents that were merely called "tents" and had no standards to protect against the cold. Now, in May, with the temperature rising to 39 degrees, not only are there few trees to provide shade, but the lack of cooling facilities has turned the tents into "unbearable" places.

Scott Anderson said: "The increase in temperature has made the fight against disease outbreaks a priority, just like sending food."

According to the latest reports, more than 34,000 Palestinians have been martyred and over 77,000 injured in the Zionist regime's attacks on Gaza. Nearly 8,000 people are still missing under the rubble, and efforts to rescue them are ongoing. Also, 73% of the martyrs and wounded in the Gaza war are women and children.

The Israeli regime was established in 1917 with the scheme of British colonialism and through the migration of Jews from various countries to Palestinian lands, and its existence was declared in 1948. Since then, various plans for mass killings have been carried out to genocide the Palestinian people and occupy their entire land.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is a strong supporter of the dissolution of the Israeli colonial regime and the return of Jews to their original lands.
