Pars Today - In an article, Atwan analyzes the approach of Arab countries to the Gaza ceasefire negotiations, criticizing the role of Arab mediators such as Egypt and Qatar, who entered negotiations without conditions, even after Netanyahu deliberately committed a massacre in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza.

Abdul Bari Atwan, a prominent Arab writer and analyst, wrote in an article in the newspaper Rai Al-Youm, analyzing the courageous decision of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas", to boycott the Doha negotiations. According to Pars Today, he considers Sinwar's decision a sign of Hamas' dignity and firmness in the face of external pressures.

He also considers Hamas' decision a sign of the failure of US threats and the intense pressure of Arab mediators over the past 10 months to wage war against the Gaza Strip.

He added: These negotiations, led by William Burns, the head of the US intelligence agency CIA, were hastily arranged and aimed to stop or delay the response of the resistance axis to the assassination of the martyr Ismail Haniyeh, the former head of the Hamas political bureau in Tehran, and Fuad Shukr, the senior commander of Hezbollah in the southern suburbs of Beirut, which will not lead to anything because Netanyahu deliberately committed these assassinations with the aim of igniting a regional war and involving the United States and its Western allies. 

Even US President Joe Biden is not seeking to stop the war and does not dare to put pressure on Netanyahu and his cabinet, and with open eyes and in the height of humiliation, he submits to his dictates and wishes; the last example is the sending of advanced military equipment worth $20 billion, including F-35 fighters and high-destructive power bombs and bunker busters that can penetrate fortifications located under mountains.

 He continued: "Yahya Sinwar, the head of the Hamas political bureau, who manages the military and political battle from under one of the Gaza tunnels, has proven that he is not afraid of the United States and the occupying regime, and does not pay attention to the intimidated and surrendered Arab leaders, and confronts the Zionist with the language of force and military confrontation."

Atwan wrote: Netanyahu thinks that by committing the massacre of the Al-Daraj neighborhood school in Gaza and the assassination of martyr Haniyeh, he can intimidate the resistance and impose his conditions, including keeping his occupying forces in the Salah al-Din (Philadelphia) district on the Egyptian-Palestinian border and the right to attack the Gaza Strip again at any time he wants, as well as establishing a checkpoint on the Netzarim district in the center of the strip to prevent the return of resistance forces to northern Gaza. 

However, the results were completely the opposite, and the most prominent of which was Hamas' non-participation in the new round of negotiations to reach a ceasefire and exchange prisoners in Doha, Qatar, and its insistence on implementing previous demands and agreements in this regard.

Ten months of war have not caused the Palestinian resistance leaders in Gaza to grant any concessions, whereas in the past, peace agreements like Camp David and Oslo were reached within days, or even hours.

He pointed out that the presence of Arab mediators in the negotiations and the "submission of the heads of Arab intelligence agencies to American demands" is an incentive for Washington to continue supporting the Zionist regime and its massacres, and to boast to the Arabs.

The analyst called on Arab leaders to "talk about achievements, wisdom, and rationality, and to refrain from serving Netanyahu and his generals, and meeting the food needs of the Zionist regime through their land border with occupied Palestine; especially since they cannot send a bag of flour, a bottle of water, or a carton of medicine to the residents of Gaza."

He considered the dispatch of four American envoys to the region, including William Burns, the head of the CIA, Amos Hochstein, the US envoy to West Asia, and Brett McGurk, the coordinator of West Asia and North Africa affairs at the White House, as a sign of America's panic and concern about the situation in the region, and its desire to continue the Zionist regime's aggression and massacres. He added: "America deals with Arab leaders like idiots who can be easily deceived."

He stated that American threats, including the deployment of warships and nuclear submarines, have not instilled fear in the hearts of the Yemenis, and praised the new head of the Hamas political bureau, saying: "Sinwar, the combatant, has the right to manage the situation with ease and confidence from his underground center in Gaza, with the help of his deputy, such as Muhammad al-Deif and Marwan Issa. This fighter, in our opinion, has the ability to lead not only the Palestinian people but the Arab world."
