Mass rally in Sanaa praises Iran for breaking Yemen’s blockade
Pars Today – Thousands of Yemenis gathered in Al-Sabeen Square in the capital Sanaa to express gratitude for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s role in breaking the unjust blockade on Yemen.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, a large public demonstration was held Friday night in Sanaa in support of statements by Yemen’s armed forces and to express appreciation for Iran’s position regarding the blockade imposed on the country.
Thousands of protesters reaffirmed their full support for the Yemeni armed forces’ statement and voiced deep gratitude for Iran’s assistance in the imposed blockade on the Yemeni people.
The demonstration followed an announcement earlier on Friday by a spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces, who said that air defense units had successfully intercepted Saudi fighter jets attempting to prevent the landing of a civilian Iranian aircraft at Sanaa International Airport and forced them to leave Yemeni airspace.
The Iranian aircraft had reportedly flown to Sanaa to transport 200 patients and wounded individuals.
Protesters in Al-Sabeen Square described Iran’s action as a significant humanitarian and political gesture.
