Iraqi political, cultural figures narrate martyred Leader's funeral
Pars Today – A Lebanese media outlet described the funeral of Iran's martyred Leader in Iraq as a historic event and interviewed a number of Iraqi political and cultural figures about its significance.
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, the Lebanese Al Ahd TV published a report titled, "What Does the Funeral of Martyr Ayatollah Khamenei in Iraq Mean?" The report stated:
"There is no doubt that this ceremony will be historic in Iraq and will serve as the continuation of the million-strong funeral ceremonies held in Iran."
The report then presented the views of several Iraqi media, cultural, and political figures.
Ahmed al-Khazali, an analyst on the Axis of Resistance, said:
"The funeral of Martyr Imam Khamenei in Iraq reflects commitment and loyalty to Islam and its people. It has become clear to both friends and enemies that an attack on Iran's neighbor is an attack on Iraq and its people. The United States knows that Iraq's identity is Islamic, as enshrined in its constitution, and that the religious authority (marja'iyya) in both Iraq and Iran is a sacred red line."
Al-Khazali added:
"One of the benefits of such large-scale ceremonies is that they can remove the geographic and national barriers created by enemies to prevent the unity of the Islamic Ummah. It is a blessing from God that both friends and enemies recognize the significance of the presence of the martyred Leader's pure body in Iraq."
Ali al-Tawil, a university professor and head of ideological affairs for Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces, told Al Ahd TV:
"The funeral of Martyr Sayyid Ali Khamenei in Iraq is evidence of an ideological bond, because the religious authority (marja'iyya) is one of the fundamental pillars of belief for Shia Muslims. Therefore, the funeral of this prominent religious authority is a clear demonstration of commitment to that ideological connection."
Al-Tawil added:
"The conflict with the enemy is no longer merely a tactical one. The enemy has declared it an existential battle and has targeted authentic Muhammadan Islam. Such a struggle cannot be confined to the battlefield alone, because the battlefield is only one aspect of it. Popular participation must also be visible, as it is targeted through soft warfare and other means."
Ali Fadel Al-Difaei, the official spokesperson for the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, said:
"The magnificent, million-strong funeral of Ayatollah Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei is not merely a farewell to a great leader; it is a new popular referendum in support of the path of resistance, dignity, and independence. These millions of participants are sending a clear message to the world that an aware people are capable of identifying their true enemy and remain steadfast and more determined in confronting projects of domination and injustice."
Saad Sahib Al-Waeli, a researcher and professor at the University of Karbala, said:
"The message of this ceremony to international and regional powers, including those hostile to Iran and Shiism, is that the Axis of Resistance is not a temporary political alliance. Rather, it is a deep, sacred, and growing popular bond that transcends national borders."
