Daesh leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
A local source at Iraq's Nineveh said on Tuesday that Daesh media spoke for the first time about a substitute for its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in the aftermath of aerial bombardment by the US-led coalition on his hideout.
The source said in a press statement that the terrorist group of Daesh (ISIL) leader might have been fallen dead by the coalition's bombardment; a matter that have prompted fears among the terrorist group's members, the Baghdad Post reported.
The source added that the Daesh media outlet spoke for the first time about a successor for al-Baghdadi in case of his death, noting that this announcement is unprecedented.
Air strikes by the so-called US-led coalition jets that shelled Daesh's command headquarters office at al-Qa'im area in western Anbar two days ago have resulted in the death of top Daesh leaders, while rumors have spread about al-Baghdadi's death.
Early in October, informed sources in Iraq's Nineveh Province disclosed that Daesh has started polling members to express their view about the fate of the terrorist cell once its notorious leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi dies, a move that stirred growing speculations that he might be already dead.
