Ghalibaf: They punished themselves with triple-digit oil prices

Pars Today – Iran’s Parliament Speaker used humor to comment on the difficulties facing the United States and the rise in global oil prices above $100 per barrel.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, shared an image on his social media account and used the situation facing the United States and the surge in oil prices as the basis for a joke. He wrote:

"They wanted to punish Iran, but they punished themselves with triple-digit oil prices. A 10 out of 10 strategy!"

He added that the image he shared was one of the internet’s well-known memes, commonly used by users to depict situations where someone unintentionally harms themselves and then portrays themselves as the victim.
