Pars Today - China's ambassador to the United States said: Washington cannot intimidate Beijing with its decisions regarding bilateral trade.

The trade war launched by U.S. President Donald Trump through the imposition of high new tariffs against many countries has disrupted the vast volume of trade between the world’s two largest economies. During this conflict, both China and the U.S. have announced tariffs exceeding 100%, leading to restrictions on trade, investment, and cultural issues.

According to Pars Today, "Xie Feng," China's ambassador to the U.S., stated on Saturday evening: "The United States cannot scare China with its decisions about bilateral trade, and if Washington wishes to negotiate on these issues, it must engage in equal dialogue with Beijing."

He added: "The increase and inflation of customs duties benefits no one. This situation destabilizes commercial operations, leads to rising costs, impacts financial markets, and slows down global economic growth."

China's ambassador to the U.S. emphasized: "The tariff war was not started by China. We do not want a fight, but we will not be intimidated by U.S. actions either. We are not only protecting our legitimate rights and interests but also safeguarding the international trading order. If the United States wants to negotiate, it must act with equality, respect, and mutual understanding."
