Pars Today – Muslim religious leaders from BRICS member states issued a statement outlining their official positions on major global issues, warning that the erosion of the healthy family structure poses a threat to the future of humanity.
The conference of Muslim religious leaders from ten BRICS member states was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the participation of Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Mahdi Imanipour, head of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization. According to Pars Today, religious leaders from all ten BRICS countries attended the gathering and issued a statement on key global issues at its conclusion.
The statement declared: “The principle of unity in diversity, deeply rooted in Islamic teachings, reflects our shared desire to build a multipolar and united world. Such a world does not require a single system or model, but rather should be based on mutual respect for ancient traditions and cultural, religious, and civilizational characteristics.”
In the statement, BRICS member states voiced their support for the policy of alignment between the leaders and governments of BRICS countries, as well as for their tireless efforts to safeguard and promote the spiritual and moral values upon which human civilization has been built for centuries, and which serve as the foundation for a model of spiritual and ethical development.
The Muslim member states of BRICS declared that, given the rich cultural diversity characteristic of their peoples, strengthening and deepening interethnic and interfaith dialogue is a key factor for continuing constructive and fruitful cooperation within the framework of this organization.
They emphasized: “We are convinced that the destruction of the healthy family structure threatens the future of humanity with disastrous consequences. In light of the current situation, our primary and urgent duty is to make every effort to preserve and promote sound family values among the younger generations — including through close cooperation with representatives of other religions and all healthy forces within society.”
In their statement, the Muslim member states of BRICS declared: “We condemn all forms of hate speech, extremism, terrorism, and fascism. We also denounce every form of disrespect toward religions, as well as any tendencies or approaches aimed at restricting the rights and freedoms of their followers. Furthermore, we call for strengthening our shared commitment to expanding scientific, religious, and humanitarian cooperation among Islamic communities and organizations in our countries.”
