Pars Today – The President of Cuba warned that U.S. military threats against his country have reached a dangerous stage, but Havana will not surrender.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz‑Canel wrote on social media on Saturday that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has escalated his threats of military invasion against Cuba to an unprecedented and dangerous level.
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Díaz‑Canel added that the international community and the American people should be aware that such criminal actions are carried out to satisfy a small group of wealthy and influential individuals seeking revenge and domination.
Stating that “no aggressor, no matter how powerful, can force Cuba to surrender,” Díaz‑Canel emphasized that the Cuban people will defend their sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
Meanwhile, Bruno Rodríguez, Cuba’s foreign minister, said the country firmly opposes and condemns the United States’ unilateral coercive measures.
Rodríguez added: “While the U.S. government suppresses its own people in the streets, it seeks to punish the Cuban people, who are heroically resisting the attacks of American imperialism. These actions have an extraterritorial nature and violate the United Nations Charter. The United States has absolutely no right to impose measures against Cuba, third countries, or third parties.”
Last week, the U.S. president signed an executive order imposing new sanctions on individuals and entities linked to Cuba, citing concerns about threats to U.S. national security and foreign policy.
