Protests in UK against U.S. and Israeli war-mongering
Pars Today – Various groups of people in the United Kingdom, following an urgent call by the “Stop the War” campaign, held a protest gathering outside the Prime Minister’s Office against U.S. and Israeli wars against Iran and the wider region.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, the emergency call by the campaign, organized by different segments of British society, stated: “While horror continues in Lebanon, Gaza, and Iran despite the alleged ceasefire, we must stand with their people. Join us and the Palestine Solidarity Coalition outside the Prime Minister’s Office to demand that the British government stop allowing its bases to be used for the U.S. bombing of Iran, and to call on Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu to end their illegal wars.”
Anti-war organizations in the United Kingdom have long argued that, despite Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s insistence that Britain will not enter a war against Iran, UK Royal Air Force bases continue to play a central role in U.S.-led military operations.
They claim that Britain should stop sharing intelligence from its reconnaissance aircraft stationed in Cyprus with the Israeli regime, and also end the supply of weapons to Israel’s military.
Meanwhile, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders criticized a Pentagon plan to expand military and arms cooperation with Israel, stating that the American people do not support U.S. military aid to Israel.
