Pars Today – A spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry welcomed the agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, describing it as a positive step toward easing regional tensions.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at Monday’s press briefing that Beijing welcomes the agreement reached between the United States and Iran on the provisions of the first phase of a memorandum of understanding and appreciates Pakistan’s mediation efforts in facilitating the deal.

He added that China hopes Tehran and Washington will sign the first phase of the memorandum as scheduled and use this opportunity to strengthen dialogue, enhance mutual trust, and advance peace and stability in the region.

According to Lin, China has consistently maintained that dialogue and negotiation are the only effective means of resolving disputes and reducing tensions. He stressed that Beijing supports all diplomatic efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire and achieving lasting peace.

The Chinese spokesperson also emphasized that China stands ready to continue working with the international community to preserve peace, stability, and security in West Asia.

He further noted that maintaining calm in the region and ensuring the security of international energy routes would serve the interests of both regional countries and the global economy.
