Pars Today – News sources have reported that Lindsey Graham, the anti-Iranian, hawkish, and hardline Republican senator from the United States, has died.
According to Pars Today, citing Fars News Agency, Graham’s office announced in a statement that Senator Lindsey Graham died on the evening of July 11 due to a sudden illness.
Graham, the Republican senator from South Carolina, had long been regarded as one of the most outspoken anti-Iran figures in the U.S. Congress throughout his political career. He was not only a strong supporter of the United States’ withdrawal from the nuclear deal (JCPOA) and the policy of maximum pressure against Iran, but also repeatedly and openly advocated the use of military force against the country.
His policy toward Tehran combined crippling sanctions, explicit military threats, and unconditional support for any hostile actions taken by Israel against Iranian interests in the region.
Meanwhile, Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s minister of national security, expressed sorrow over the senator’s death, saying:
“Today, Israel has lost one of its greatest friends.”
