Pars Today – Russia's Foreign Ministry spokesperson criticized Kyiv's actions, saying Ukraine's attack on an Iranian vessel was a clear example of terrorism.
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in an interview with Sputnik Radio that, based on what is widely recognized under international practice, Ukraine's recent attack on an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea should be regarded as an act of terrorism, describing it as a manifestation of the resurgence of piracy in the modern world.
Zakharova had also previously commented on the Ukrainian drone attack against the Iranian vessel Anna in the Caspian Sea, saying such criminal actions demonstrate Ukrainian government's undeniable intention to expand the geographical scope of its terrorist activities.
She added that Kyiv's recent attack on civilian vessels in the Caspian Sea highlights the clear threat Ukraine poses to the regional security of the Caspian littoral states.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed that the Caspian Sea should remain free from any military conflict and continue to serve as a region of peace, good neighborly relations, and cooperation.
