Pars Today- Lobbyists of the Zionist regime are trying to prevent the victory of pro-Palestinian figures in the US elections by spending huge budgets.

US events show that a group of wealthy supporters of the Zionist regime in the US have been collecting hundreds of thousands of dollars in the past few days to launch a campaign against Ilhan Omar, a pro-Palestinian politician.

According to Pars Today quoting ISNA, Ilhan Omar, who is trying to win the Democratic primary election to be introduced as the Democratic representative in her constituency, has so far managed to collect three times more budget than her Democratic rival, Don Samuels.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, known as AIPAC, is one of the largest and most powerful PACs and lobbying groups in the United States, with over 100,000 members, spending millions of dollars each year to influence US policies and promote Zionist demands.

AIPAC recently spent a huge budget to remove Corey Bush, a Democratic candidate who was not favored by this lobbying organization, from the election.

Although Ilhan Omar has not faced a significant challenge from AIPAC in the primary election this year, The Intercept reported in a report that a group has been discovered in cyberspace called "Zionists for Don Samuels and against Ilhan Omar".

Members of this group are collecting funds to replace Ilhan Omar with Don Samuels, another Democratic candidate, in the November congressional election.

According to The Intercept, one of the group's messages states that nearly $100,000 has been raised to fight Ilhan Omar within 24 hours.

Mechanism of financial support in US elections

In US elections, financial assistance is not limited to what ordinary people and non-governmental organizations directly contribute to campaign headquarters. An American citizen can indirectly and without any connection to a candidate's campaign headquarters spend amounts to advertise in his favor or against his rivals. American citizens, organizations, and lobbyists do this through private organizations called "Political Action Committee" or "PAC".

These committees are currently of two types: committees related to candidate headquarters that collect money for the campaign headquarters in a limited way, and committees independent of candidate headquarters that collect unlimited assistance.

The second type is known as "Super PAC", which, unlike the first type, is not allowed to spend the money it has collected on campaign headquarters and must spend it independently.

Since Super PACs have no limits on receiving financial support, candidates can increase their chances of winning the election by spending huge amounts, an issue that many Americans have objected to and considered corrupt.

According to Middle East Eye, the Zionist lobby has spent a huge amount in this year's US election to elect moderate Democrats to prevent the rise of progressive representatives like Ilhan Omar, who have openly criticized the Zionist regime's actions and announced their support for Palestine.

Although Zionist lobbying has been common in US elections for a long time, with the start of the Gaza war, the Zionist lobby has intensified its efforts to counter pro-Palestinian figures in the US.

Ilhan Omar is no stranger to attacks by pro-Zionist groups. Since her victory in the 2018 congressional election, she has become one of the main targets of Zionist supporters' attacks.
