Forty years of matchless leadership (4)
Almost 40 years have passed since the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution. During these years, the Islamic Republic system has moved strongly toward the pinnacles of sublimity and material and spiritual progress.
The main factor of the power of the Islamic Republic has without doubt been the leadership of Imam Khomeini and his successor, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. These two great personalities have ably passed the locomotive of the revolution through myriads of vicissitudes.
Imam Khomeini was a jurisprudent with a comprehensive character. He was a treasury of all positive traits. Decisive willpower, political acumen, perception of time, excessive hatred of oppression and oppressor, infinite intellect in cognizance of plots and stratagems, sharp vision and pure intention were among his outstanding features. Imam Khomeini stood against the oppression and tyranny of Shah with the courage stemming from his faith in God. The Iranian people, seeing his courage, and indomitable resolve, were encouraged to rise up and resist against the despotic regime to the last drop of their blood. The Imam rose up for revival of the Islamic laws and salvation of people from the yoke of the US-backed regime. Then he founded the Islamic system when the world was divided between the two western and eastern poles. The western and eastern blocs had divided the world with differing politics and economies.
Imam Khomeini, relying on the Islamic political view, shaped his behavior and raised the motto of Neither East, Nor West, Islam Is the Best. He was excessively opposed to the Global Arrogance and capitalist system led by the US. He was the first leader who vehemently opposed the criminal regime of Israel and raised the quintessential principle of absolute annihilation of the illegitimate regime from the world map. The Imam said on the US, “America is the archenemy of the deprived and downtrodden people in the world. America doesn’t avoid any crime in the way of its political, economic, cultural and military dominance over the world. America is the enemy of all religions even Christianity. America pays no attention to religions and doesn’t want except its own interests, not even those of the Americans. It wants the interests of the American government.”
Imam Khomeini predicted the dissolution of the communist system. And finally, in 1991 his prediction materialized. In the first days of 1989, Imam Khomeini wrote a letter to the last president of USSR, Mikhail Gorbachev, inviting him to God and predicting the collapse of communism for good. In the letter, the Imam spoke of hearing the sound of breaking the bones of Marxism, while the Soviet Union was considered as one of the two superpowers of the world. In those days, the Cold War had not ended yet and the Wall of Berlin hadn’t fallen yet. Politicians and theorists were perplexed at Imam Khomeini’s decisiveness and certainty in his prediction. They thought if a religious leader can express a correct opinion on an important issue like the collapse of a superpower! But, to the amazement of politicians and leaders of the world, the Imam’s forecast came true in 1991 and his divine personality and sharp insight dazzled every observer.
After the passing away of Imam Khomeini in 1989, his disciple and successor Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei took the helm of the leadership. In the very beginning, Ayatollah Khamenei announced that his way, his mottos, his goals and ideals will be exactly the same as those of Imam Khomeini. He has led the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic so ably and competently that Iran has turned to the first power in West Asia and, as the enemies have admitted, Iran is the most influential country in the region.
One of the indexes of Islamic Iran’s might is the steadfastness of its leaders against the US and its colonial and arrogant conduct. Ayatollah Khamenei, just like Imam Khomeini, is very distrustful of the US. When the Iranian team was planning to negotiate with the US and a few European governments on Iran’s peaceful program to attract the trust of that handful of governments, the Leader stressed that he had never trusted the United States and believed that even transparency and honest talks with 5+1 is useless and won’t bear fruit. Ayatollah Khamenei’s remarks were completely true as Trump violated the nuclear agreement unilaterally, showing that the US regime abides by no logic or treaty and merely pursues its bullying interests.
After that, Ayatollah Khamenei announced that the former American officials, too, would not observe political and diplomatic etiquette in their remarks; but the current officials speak so audaciously and brazenly with the world as if they were totally stripped of modesty.
Ayatollah Khamenei said, “With respect to the formula of the Americans in the talks, any government that negotiates with them will face problem unless its orientations are the same as Washington. The current American government is even bullying the Europeans. We can enter the dangerous game of negotiation with America only when we reach our desired might economically, politically and culturally so that its pressures and ballyhoos cannot affect us. But at the moment, negotiation will definitely end to our detriment and is forbidden. As with the current government of America, definitely we won’t negotiate.”
Ayatollah Khamenei smartly and insightfully observes political events and makes firm decisions against them. He deems scientific growth as the cause of national power and has often recommended the youths to march in this path. The Iranian youths owe their tremendous breakthroughs in different domains of science and technology to the unflinching support of the Leader and his guidelines.
Iran’s defensive power is another issue which deeply owes its advancement to the leadership and support of Ayatollah Khamenei. Presently, the Islamic Republic of Iran is the most powerful country in the region and in some domains has transcended the frontiers of defensive technologies. The 8-year imposed war, the so-called paralyzing sanctions, social unrests, and so on could not isolate and weaken Iran and the Islamic Republic has turned from strength to strength to the chagrin of the enemies, especially the US and its partner-in-crime, the Zionist regime of Israel. All these plots have failed thanks to the leadership of Imam Khomeini and then Ayatollah Khamenei. As martyr Ayatollah Beheshti said, “America! Be angry with us and die of this anger.”
We wrap up this article with a prediction by Ayatollah Khamenei which is worth pondering upon. The Leader said in 2015, “Let me say something about the Zionist regime. After the end of the nuclear talks, I heard that the Zionists said in the Occupied Palestine, ‘With these talks we have no concern and are at ease over Iran for 25 years. We will think of it after 25 years.' I say in response that you won’t see the next 25 years. God willing, till the next 25 years, with God’s help and grace there won’t be a thing called the Zionist regime in the region.”
Sure, as Imam Khomeini predicted the disintegration of Marxism and it happened; this prediction of Ayatollah Khamenei will definitely materialize, too.
