Welcome to this week's episode of the series "Iranian Family". All of us have, more or less, made a number of mistakes in our lives. The important point is to realize our mistakes and not to repeat them. Married couples also make mistakes in their lifetime.

In fact, at times, our mistakes shake the foundation of our family. Experts opine that whenever one of us makes a mistake, he should sincerely admit to it. You should be also cautious not to hurt someone else's feelings. Honesty and repentance is the only solution; given that refusal to confess to one's mistake fuels disputes. As long as you do not admit to your mistakes, you would not be able to heal your shaken married life.

The principle of reinforcement of family is of paramount importance. The first prerequisite for establishment of a healthy and dynamic community is having a healthy and sustainable family. All of the scientific and artistic achievements of mankind have been made as the result of maintenance of healthy and safe families. In order to fulfill the goals of the family, married couples should make utmost efforts to reinforce the foundation of their families and should put emphasis on the unity and dynamism of this holy foundation.

One of the effective contributors to the health and solidity of families is the family's financial and economic capacities. Hard work plays a decisive and pivotal role in cementing the foundation of families. Establishment and maintenance of a healthy family sets the stage for establishment of a healthy community. if the family members lack mental and physical health, they will in turn leave a negative impact on the physical and mental health of the community. The divine religion of Islam notes that Halal earning is one of the main secrets behind reinforcement of the foundation of family. In fact, the Infallible Imams of the Prophet of Islam's Household (PBUT) have pointed out this fact on several occasions in their keynote remarks. One's earnings is of importance in one's personal and social life, leaving several important effects. For instance, making a living out of one's hard work brings about peace of mind for oneself and one's family, and distances the family members from potential disputes and chaos.

One of the experts on family affairs, Zahra Mirzai, notes that those who believe in Halal livelihood, reach tranquility and are content with their earnings. Families who make halal earnings, strongly believe in Hereafter, are not envious, are not extravagant, and reinforce the emotional bonds among family members with the appropriate management of their state of economy.

Meanwhile, Holy Quran has called on us to make the best out of divine blessings which are bestowed upon us, and invites everyone to work hard to attain welfare.

In order to have an honorable life, one should have a legitimate and honorable job, and should make hard efforts to earn a living for one's family; given that indolence, lack of skills, and wastage of time are huge burdens on the related individual and family.

Meanwhile, one of the consequences of an inappropriate and illegitimate job is callousness. If the earnings which one makes is not Halal, it leaves a negative impact on the individual. In this case, the related individual derails from the righteous path. The illegitimacy of earnings also negatively influences one's children and pushes the related family members toward commitment of sins. Thus, appropriately upbringing children in such a family becomes a difficult task.

In the meantime, the question which springs to mind is how can we maintain our honor and dignity. To this end, Islamic experts call for avoidance of sins; refusal to submit to one's whims; maintenance of one's family via education of the family members and appropriate upbringing of children; promotion of virtues and prevention of vice; and establishment of a healthy and safe environment at one's home. This plan should be the cornerstone of any given family.
