Yemen needs more than joint statements and emergency food aid appeals. UN statements need to follow with actions and medical aid has to reach the Yemenis now.

No wonder the political class in Washington cannot afford to keep its military bases running in Europe or Far East, or buy new weaponry. The big picture remains the same: Total defeat and bankruptcy for war-party Washington.

New humanitarian crisis in Yemen

This is while efforts are underway through an emergency donor conference to support the war-torn country as it faces a coronavirus catastrophe in the sixth year of the Saudi-led military campaign. Aid groups have warned that the fast-spreading virus could wreak havoc after years of war and amid crippling funding shortages.

US considers new weapons for Saudi Arabia as kingdom renews Yemen border bombings

In addition to killing and injuring hundreds of civilians, American-made weapons have exposed Yemen’s people to highly toxic substances on a level not seen before has left Yemen one of the most heavily contaminated countries in the world.

First official cases of coronavirus and deadly flooding mark Ramadan in Yemen
May 04, 2020 15:29Yemeni health officials have told reporters that flooding has impeded coronavirus prevention measures in a country already devastated from five years of Saudi bombing that has left 70 percent of its health facilities destroyed. Also the UN refugee agency says nearly one million internally displaced people in Yemen risk losing their shelter due to torrential rains and seasonal floods, warning of a dire lack of funding at a time when the county is already threatened by the coronavirus pandemic.

Persian Gulf needs no US naval presence, weapons

The US must turn away from its deadly arms trade with the Arab littoral states, stop showing the flag and throwing grenade into the maritime areas, and focus instead on abiding by international law that says the region should be secured and protected by the littoral states only, including Iran.
