Heartiest felicitations to you all on a very special occasion. Iran and the Iranian people are celebrating the “Daughter’s Day” today in honour of one of the most virtuous daughters of the Mother of mankind Eve.

For your information today is the 1st of the month of Zil-Qa’dah, the birthday of this grand lady, whose holy shrine in the city of Qom is the site of pilgrimage from all over the world of the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt or Blessed Household of the Almighty’s Last and Greatest Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny). She is none other than Hazrat Fatema (Peace be upon her), the daughter of Imam Musa Kazem (PBUH), and known popularly as Ma’souma or the Innocent Lady.

Before we present you a special feature on this auspicious occasion, here is ayah 36 of Surah Noor of the holy Qur’an, which says:

“In Houses Allah has allowed to be raised and wherein His Name is celebrated, He is glorified therein, morning and evening.”

On revelation of this ayah when the Prophet of Islam recited it as a sequel to the Verse of Light, he was asked by his companions about the houses exalted by God, and answered that this was a reference to the houses of Prophets.

Abu Bakr, pointing to the house of the Prophet’s Immaculate Daughter Hazrat Fatema and her Impeccable Husband, the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Taleb (peace upon them) – a house which like the Prophet’s house had one of its doors opening into the Prophet’s Mosque while the doors of all other houses that entrance to this Grand Mosque had been sealed on Divine Orders – asked whether this house was included in this ayah.

“Yes”, replied the Seal of Messengers, and added: “It is the best of them.”

This event has been narrated in all authentic Islamic texts, including those of our Sunni brethren.

It is thus firm evidence that the houses as well as the shrines of the Prophet’s Infallible Ahl al-Bayt, whose pristine purity God Almighty has Himself vouchsafed in ayah 33 of Surah al-Ahzab, are the places frequented, not just by devout Muslims, but by the celestial angels.

Muslims, whatever their denomination, have over the past millennium and four centuries, scrupulously guarded the sanctity of the houses of the Prophet and his Infallible Ahl al-Bayt in the holy cities of Medina and Mecca, ensuring that the Name of the Lord Most High continues to be glorified in them.

The various dynasties and empires which throughout history had jurisdiction over Hijaz, the Land of Revelation, spared no efforts in maintaining and embellishing the houses of the Ahl al-Bayt, until the occupation of the holy cities by the heretical Wahhabi cult in 1925 and the sacrilegious demolition of edifices where the Name of God was glorified day and night.

May God deliver Arabia from the Aal-e Saud clan and its American-Zionist tentacles! Amen.

Outside Arabia, however, despite the blasphemous attempts of the Godless Takfiri terrorists, the houses, whose sanctity God Almighty has ensured in the holy Qur’an, have flourished as beacons of guidance for the seekers of truth.

One such divinely-exalted house is in the city of Qom in Iran, where reposes in eternal peace the noble daughter of the Prophet’s 7th Infallible Heir, Imam Musa Kazem (AS).

She is Fatema al-Ma’souma (peace upon her). She is the namesake of her great ancestress the Noblest Lady of all times, the Prophet’s Immaculate Daughter, Hazrat Fatema Zahra (peace upon her) – whose resting place in Medina, as per the Will of the All-Wise Creator, remains a secret.

This fact makes the sprawling shrine in Qom of this illustrious offspring of the Prophet an important rendezvous for devotees from all around the world, eager to join the throngs that day and night glorify the Name of the Lord Most High.

Today, the 1st of Zi’l-Qa’dah, the birthday of this noble lady, affords us the opportunity to partake of the blessings that God grants to those paying homage to her from far or near.

Born in Medina in the year 173 AH, she was a mere girl of six years, but highly knowledgeable, when the tyrant Haroun Rashid imprisoned her father and four years later martyred him in Baghdad through poisoning.

She grew up under the guidance of her brother, Imam Reza (AS), acquiring bezels of wisdom and imparting the genuine teachings of Islam to all those who came in contact with her.

Time does not permit us to go into details of the wise answers she had provided as a little girl to a group of pilgrims to Hijaz from distant Khorasan, enquiring about certain jurisprudential matters, in the absence of her father. Later when this group met Imam Kazem (AS) and showed him the list of answers his little daughter had provided them, he smiled, thanked God Almighty, and said: “Fidaha Abuha” which means “may her father be sacrificed for her”.

When Imam Reza (AS) was forced to leave Medina for Marv in Khorasan, the then capital of the usurper Abbasid regime, by the self-styled caliph, Mamoun, the sister decided to join her dear brother.

Alas, before reaching Khorasan, her caravan was attacked by Abbasid agents near Saveh, resulting in the martyrdom of several members of her entourage, and making her turn towards Qom, where the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt warmly welcomed her.

After a brief 17-day stay in this city, the soul of Hazrat Fatema Ma’soumah (peace upon her) flew to the ethereal heavens, and by God’s Will Qom turned into a place of not just pilgrimage, but the centre of diffusion of the genuine Muhammadan teachings of Islam.

Day and night pilgrims salute her with the words: “O Fatema intercede for us, since you have an exalted status in the sight of God Almighty”, here is a hadith quoted her authority.

Fatema Ma’soumah (peace upon her) narrates on the authority of her aunt Fatema the daughter of Imam Ja’far as-Sadeq (AS), from Fatema the daughter of Imam Muhammad al-Baqer (AS), from Fatema daughter of Imam Zain al-Abedin (AS), from Fatema the daughter of Imam Husain (AS), from Hazrat Zaynab the daughter of Imam Ali (AS) and from Hazrat Fatema az-Zahra (SA), who quotes her father the Prophet of God as saying: “Know that whoever dies having the love of the progeny of Muhammad, dies a martyr.”

While saluting this noble lady on her blessed birthday and joining those who glorify God Almighty day and night in the Divinely Exalted House of Qom, here is a similar but lengthy hadith from our Sunni brethren inscribed in the shrine of Hazrat Fatema al-Ma’soumah (SA) on the authority of Zamakhshari in his exegesis of the holy Qur’an titled “al-Kashshaf”:

“The Messenger of Allah, said: “Be aware that whoever dies having love for the progeny of Muhammad dies a martyr. Be aware that whoever dies having love for the progeny of Muhammad dies forgiven. Be aware that whoever dies having love for the progeny of Muhammad dies in perfect faith. Be aware that whoever dies having love for Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad, the angel of death and the two angels, Nakeer and Munkar will give him good tidings of Heaven. Be aware that whoever dies having love for Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad, will be raised to Heaven. Be aware that whoever dies having love for Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad, Allah will open two doors leading into Heaven in his grave. Be aware that whoever dies having love for Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad, Allah will make his grave a place of pilgrimage for the angels of Mercy. Be aware that whoever dies having enmity for Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad, on the Day of Judgement, in between his two eyes will be written, “He has no hope of receiving the mercy of Allah.” Be aware that whoever dies having enmity for the progeny of Muhammad, dies an unbeliever (Kafer). Be aware that whoever dies having enmity for the progeny of Muhammad will not even smell the fragrance of Heaven.”
