Putin: We want direct talks with Ukraine

Pars Today - The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has proposed "direct peace talks with Ukraine" to be held on Thursday (15 May 2025) in Istanbul, Turkey.

President Putin, in a conversation with reporters in the Kremlin, stated: "It was not Russia that interrupted the 2022 talks, but Kiev. However, we propose that Kiev resume direct peace talks without any preconditions".

The Russian President further reiterated: "We are determined to hold serious talks to resolve the roots of the conflict with Ukraine, and we can reach an agreement on a new ceasefire arrangement in these talks./ IRIB news agency
