Iran & Russia strengthen cooperation on environmental issues

Pars Today – Iran and Russia have emphasized strengthening cooperation in the environmental field.

On Thursday, the Vice President of Iran and Head of the Department of Environment, Shina Ansari met with the Vice Chairman of the Russian Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev and stressed the importance of experience-sharing between the legislative bodies of both countries in environmental matters. She also called for bilateral cooperation to combat the decline in the Caspian Sea’s water levels and to preserve its biodiversity. Kosachev confirmed Russia’s strong parliamentary will to expand environmental cooperation with Iran and declared Moscow’s readiness for joint efforts. /IRNA
