UNICEF: Gaza's health infrastructure on the brink of collapse
Pars Today – The spokesperson for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), referring to the dire situation in Gaza, said on Saturday that the healthcare infrastructure in the Strip is on the verge of complete collapse due to successive Israeli attacks and the ongoing blockade.
Kazem Abukhallaf, referring to the severe shortage of medicine and medical equipment in Gaza, said: “In addition, power outages and the lack of fuel to operate hospital medical devices are other problems in the Strip.” The UNICEF spokesperson emphasized that if Gaza is left in this condition, we will face a humanitarian disaster. He added: “The United Nations does not have any unreasonable demands in Gaza; rather, it calls for the enforcement of international law and the right to treatment, life, and movement for the residents of this area.” / Mehr news agency
