Jalali: Russia’s $5 billion investment in Iran finalized
Pars Today – Iran’s ambassador to Russia said that under an agreement between the two countries, Moscow is set to invest $8 billion in Iran’s gas projects, of which nearly $5 billion has so far been finalized, with the remainder of the contracts moving toward confirmation.
Kazem Jalali made the remarks during a meeting with prominent Russian Iranologists, outlining Russia’s investments in Iran’s energy and oil sectors, especially gas fields. He emphasized that in 2024, Russia was the largest foreign investor in Iran. Referring to the signing of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty between Moscow and Tehran and the implementation of the free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union, the Iranian envoy said bilateral ties have now been elevated to a strategic level.
