Pakistan: US veto of Gaza ceasefire resolution sends dangerous message to the world
Pars Today – Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations expressed deep regret and concern over the US veto of a UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, describing the move as a violation of humanitarian law and complicity in ongoing atrocities against Palestinians.
Speaking at the Security Council session on Wednesday evening, Ambassador Munir Akram said the veto marked a sorrowful day that would never be forgotten in history. “We are appalled that the Security Council has once again remained paralyzed in the face of collective suffering, brutality, and a live tragedy,” he said. “Today’s veto sends a very dangerous message that the lives of over two million besieged Palestinians are expendable.” (IRNA)
