Trump’s standing among Republican voters declines

Pars Today – A new US poll shows that Republican voters are increasingly dissatisfied with Donald Trump’s tariff policies, particularly toward China.

According to Politico, a joint poll by the website and Public First Institute revealed that Trump’s damaging trade policies have alienated a significant portion of his voter base—a red line for Republicans preparing for the 2026 midterm elections.

The survey found that one-quarter to nearly half of those who voted for Trump in the 2024 presidential election now express doubts about aspects of his tariff strategy, especially his approach to China.

Politico described the findings as a warning sign for Republicans, given Trump’s emphasis on trade issues and his promise to restore American industries.
