Hezbollah official: Iran has taken initiative after war

Pars Today – A member of Hezbollah’s Political Council and former Lebanese minister said the new balance of power in West Asia is not what the US and Israel had envisioned, and Iran has proven to be a formidable opponent with powerful allies like China and Russia.

Mahmoud Al-Qamati, speaking on the outcome of the recent war between Iran and Israel and its implications for the region, said the aggression against Iran and Netanyahu’s failed effort—backed by US President Donald Trump—to redesign West Asia by eliminating Iran and weakening the Islamic Republic has ultimately failed because Iran emerged victorious.

He added that there are efforts underway to downplay this victory and portray the US assault as a success, while in reality Trump is now seeking a return to negotiations with Tehran, and the initiative is in Iran’s hands.
