  • Baghaei: Resumption of talks contingent on Iran's assurance of effective diplomacy

Pars Today - The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said: "Given the attacks on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities, the use of the JCPOA mechanism is devoid of any relevance. Therefore, threats to invoke the snapback mechanism are purely political maneuvers aimed at confronting the Islamic Republic of Iran and will naturally be met with an appropriate and proportionate response.

At the start of his Monday morning press conference, Esmaeil Baghaei addressed the so-called snapback mechanism and Europe’s threats to activate it. He said: “This mechanism, known in Persian as ‘reversal,’ has no legal or political basis—a fact we have repeatedly emphasized. Given the recent developments, recourse to such a mechanism is more baseless than ever and lacks any legal, political, or moral justification. It merely instrumentalizes a provision included in Resolution 2231 of the JCPOA under specific conditions, which no longer apply.”

Baghaei reiterated that, due to the attacks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, the JCPOA mechanism is no longer applicable in any form. Thus, threats to invoke the snapback clause constitute a purely political action in opposition to Iran, and such an act will be met with an appropriate and calculated response.
