Lavrov to Araghchi: Iran nuclear issue must be resolved diplomatically

Pars Today – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized on Tuesday the importance of resolving the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear issue through political and diplomatic means.

Lavrov made the remarks during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, on the sidelines of the SCO foreign ministers' meeting in Tianjin, China.

The two ministers discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest and agreed to continue contacts at various levels. The Russian side reaffirmed that resolving the crisis surrounding Iran’s nuclear program must be done exclusively through legal and diplomatic channels in accordance with international law.
