France calls for comprehensive agreement with Iran

Pars Today – In an interview with the American network CBS on Sunday evening, France’s Foreign Minister stated that Europe seeks a comprehensive agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran while urging dialogue between Tehran and Washington.

Jean-Noël Barrot claimed, without acknowledging Europe’s own violations and inaction regarding its JCPOA commitments: "A decade ago, we reached a nuclear agreement with Iran that significantly rolled back its nuclear capabilities. However, circumstances have changed, and Iran has since violated the commitments it accepted upon signing the deal."

The French Foreign Minister further claimed: "Now, we seek a more comprehensive agreement—one that covers Iran’s nuclear activities, ballistic missile program, and regional activities." He emphasized the need for a "new, robust, lasting, and verifiable deal" with Iran, warning: "If a solid agreement is not reached by the end of August, we are prepared for the snapback option."
