Joint statement by 31 Islamic countries condemns Netanyahu’s remarks
Pars Today – Foreign ministers of 31 Arab and Islamic countries, along with regional organizations, strongly condemned statements by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding a “Greater Israel,” calling them a direct threat to Arab national security and regional peace.
In a joint statement, the foreign ministers, together with the Secretary-General of the Arab League, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Secretary-General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, emphasized that Netanyahu’s remarks constitute a blatant violation of international law and the principles of international relations, posing a direct threat to Arab national security and sovereignty, as well as to regional and global security and peace.
The foreign ministers of the Arab and Islamic countries, emphasizing their respect for international law and the United Nations Charter—particularly Article 2, Paragraph 4, which prohibits the use of force or threats thereof—stated that these countries will implement all necessary policies and measures to ensure peace, security, and development free from any form of domination or coercion.
The statement also strongly condemned the actions of Israeli finance minister Bezalel Smotrich in approving colonial projects in the E1 area and his racist remarks against the establishment of a Palestinian state. It described these actions as a blatant violation of international law and an infringement on the Palestinians’ right to establish an independent state with East al-Quds as its capital, emphasizing that Israel has no legal sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories.
