Pars Today – On Friday, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights emphasized that since late May, at least 1,760 aid workers have been martyred while attempting to provide assistance in Gaza—hundreds more than the number recorded in early August.

The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Palestinian territories stated in a press release that, “From May 27 to August 13, we have recorded the martyrdom of 1,760 Palestinian aid workers while attempting to provide assistance, of whom 994 were at humanitarian facility sites in Gaza and 766 were on supply convoy routes, with the Israeli military responsible for most of these killings.”

Amid widespread famine, the closure of crossings, and the prevention of humanitarian aid from entering Gaza—except for what is delivered through the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” under Israeli and U.S. supervision—thousands of Palestinians, including men, women, and the elderly, go daily to various aid distribution centers. Despite the proximity of Israeli forces and the significant risks associated with irregular distributions, they desperately seek limited food assistance.

Since the launch of the new aid distribution system on May 27, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has recorded nearly 1,300 martyrdoms and over 8,000 injuries caused by Israeli gunfire, occurring while people were waiting for humanitarian aid near distribution centers and along aid convoy routes.
