Iran\'s, BRICS to collaborate in AI, spatial data
Pars Today - During the fourth meeting of the BRICS Spatial Information Technologies Committee, which was hosted by Iran and held virtually, the Iranian Space Agency proposed the formation of a BRICS-GeoAI consortium focused on artificial intelligence and spatial data.
The BRICS–GeoAI Union focuses on exploring the role of Spatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI) in enhancing technological cooperation and sustainable development among BRICS member countries. BRICS consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, the United Arab Emirates, and Indonesia—countries that have gained significant standing in the international system in recent years as emerging economies. These nations, while possessing extensive economic, demographic, and technological capacities, face similar challenges such as climate change, food security, rapid urbanization, pressure on natural resources, and infrastructure gaps. Close collaboration among BRICS members can provide an effective response to these issues and create a platform for establishing a new order based on multilateralism and technological independence. / Mehr News Agency
