Global gold prices hit historic record

Pars Today – Amid growing global economic and political uncertainties, gold — regarded as a safe-haven asset — surged past $4,000 per ounce, marking an over 50% increase since the beginning of the year.

At the start of Wednesday’s trading session in Asia, international gold prices crossed the $4,000 mark for the first time, reaching a historic record of $4,014.64 per ounce. The price rally comes amid concerns over a possible U.S. government shutdown, expectations of interest rate cuts, and rising investor demand for safe assets.

Other contributing factors include political turmoil in France, economic pressures in Japan, and the decline of the U.S. dollar. Reports indicate that since the start of the year, gold prices have climbed by more than 50%, currently trading around the $4,010 level. /IRIB News
