Nechirvan Barzani: We will never be a threat to Iran

Pars Today - The President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region says this region will never be a source of threat against the Islamic Republic of Iran; Tehran is an important neighbor and helped the Iraqi Kurdistan Region during difficult times.

Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, announced on Thursday that the region's relations with Iran have changed following his recent trip to Tehran and have entered a different and advanced stage. He added: Iran is our neighboring country, and we share a long border with it. At the same time, we are not a source of threat for Iran, and we do not want any hostility or enmity against any neighboring country to form within the territory of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region. Our policy is to be a factor of peace in the region, not part of the problems and crises. The volume of trade exchanges between Iran and the Iraqi Kurdistan Region is 11 billion dollars. / IRIB News Agency
