Pars Today – Amid ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India and ahead of upcoming talks between Islamabad and Kabul in Istanbul, the commander of the Pakistan Army reiterated the country’s warning of a swift response to any direct or indirect aggression.

The remarks by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, commander of the Pakistan Army, come after the country signed a lasting ceasefire agreement with Afghanistan in Doha last Saturday, following deadly border clashes.

Meanwhile, provocative statements from both Pakistan and India continue even five months after the war between them, with Islamabad accusing its eastern neighbor of attempting to provoke a new conflict.
On Tuesday, the commander of the Pakistan Army addressed a group of political and social elites at the army headquarters in Rawalpindi, stating that Pakistan seeks peace and stability in the region. At the same time, he warned that any violation of Pakistan’s territorial integrity, whether direct or indirect, would be met with a firm and decisive response. /IRNA
