Pars Today – The Ministers of Health of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia emphasized the expansion of bilateral cooperation and joint investment in the fields of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment.

Mohammadreza Zafarghandi, Iran’s Minister of Health, met on Monday with Fahad Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Health, on the sidelines of the Health Investment Conference and International Health Exhibition in Riyadh.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the growing bilateral interactions in the health sector and emphasized the development of joint cooperation in scientific, academic, research, and educational fields. Key areas of collaboration include faculty and student exchanges, organizing joint congresses and specialized conferences, and strengthening ties between medical universities in Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Iran’s Minister of Health and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Health, Fahad Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, emphasized expanding joint investments in the pharmaceutical sector, medical equipment, and health infrastructure. Both ministers highlighted the importance of mutual exchange of expertise and capabilities in these areas.

In addition, they reviewed the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on health cooperation and stressed the need to expedite its finalization. Minister Zafarghandi is leading a delegation to participate in the 8th Global Health Exhibition 2025 in Riyadh as part of his official visit to Saudi Arabia.
