Pars Today – Results of a new survey released on Sunday indicate that the majority of U.S. citizens disapprove of the operations of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the deportation policies implemented during Donald Trump’s administration.

The Hill reported that according to a new YouGov survey, 53 percent of U.S. citizens somewhat or strongly disapprove of ICE’s operations, while only 39 percent support the agency’s actions.

During the Trump administration, large-scale immigration raids were carried out in cities governed by Democrats, including Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. In these raids, individuals suspected of living in the U.S. illegally were detained, and agents even began targeting schools, churches, and workplaces.

The report added that 55 percent of U.S. citizens believe ICE sometimes or often detains both American citizens and immigrants with legal residency. Additionally, 61 percent of survey respondents said that U.S. immigration officers detain individuals who have committed no immigration or customs violations.

The YouGov survey was conducted online from October 8 to 12 among 1,065 adult U.S. citizens, with a reported margin of error of four percent.
