Iranian FM: U.S. seeks to dictate its demands in negotiations
Pars Today — The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated that when Americans talk about a deal, they are actually trying to dictate their own demands, and this is something Iran has experienced firsthand.
Seyed Abbas Araqchi, in an interview with The Economist, added: “Yes, we are in favor of a deal, but a fair and balanced one. Just two months ago in New York, it was the same—we are ready to negotiate, but not to have terms dictated to us.”
Answering a question about how prepared Iran is for a potential next attack by Israel, Araqchi said: “We are even better prepared than in the previous war. Our missiles are stronger in both quantity and quality. During the 12-day war, we learned many lessons, worked on every aspect, and are fully prepared—more so than before—but that does not mean we seek war.”
The Foreign Minister concluded: “The Russians provided significant support during the 12-day war, and afterward, we have had even more cooperation than before. That’s why I say we are even more prepared than in the previous conflict.”
