Pars Today — Iran’s Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of leveraging the capacities of neighboring countries in the country’s foreign policy, stating: “We are working to implement provincial diplomacy to promote greater economic and trade interactions.”
Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, emphasized the significance of developing diplomacy with neighboring countries and the Foreign Ministry’s efforts in this area. He said that over the past year or 14 months, diplomatic interactions with neighboring countries have been at a very high level. Accordingly, President Masoud Pezeshkian, aside from Afghanistan, has visited all neighboring countries, resulting in a much better understanding compared to the past.
Araghchi added that Iran’s relations with its neighbors are very good. “However, economically, the full potential has not yet been utilized. To address this, we have recently initiated provincial diplomacy, as Iran’s neighboring countries can establish strong trade relations with adjacent regions in Iran that have significant economic capacities.”/IRIB News Agency
