Trump signs executive order against Muslim Brotherhood

Pars Today — U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order targeting the Muslim Brotherhood, placing some of its branches under review for potential designation as “Foreign Terrorist Organizations.”

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday night that, using his presidential authority under the U.S. Constitution and federal law, he has signed an order initiating a process to evaluate whether certain branches or affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood should be designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) or Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs).

By signing this executive order, Trump instructed his Secretaries of State and Treasury to determine whether specific branches of the Muslim Brotherhood — including those in Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan — should be designated as terrorist organizations.
