Israel obstructs humanitarian aid entry into Gaza

Pars Today – The media advisor of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that the Israeli regime’s prevention of humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis.

Adnan Abu Hasna, media advisor for UNRWA, stated that the Israeli regime is blocking the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, aid intended to meet the region’s needs for three months.

Abu Hasna said that Israel’s attempts to create alternative institutions to UNRWA have failed, and the closure of the "Gaza Humanitarian Institute" was due to a lack of sufficient experience.

Referring to the ongoing policy of starvation and severe financial shortages in the Gaza Strip, the UNRWA media advisor added that Israeli restrictions have pushed UNRWA to the brink of collapse, with the agency’s budget shortfall expected to reach around $200 million by the first quarter of next year, threatening the salaries of more than 30,000 employees. /IRNA
