U.S. cancels visas of legal immigrants citing security threats

Pars Today – The U.S. Secretary of State has revoked the visas of several legal immigrants, citing security concerns.

Caroline Lewitt, White House spokesperson, said that Secretary of State Marco Rubio took action against individuals deemed a “security threat”. She added that Rubio acted under his legal authority against those who “should not have been admitted to the U.S. in the first place”.

Lewitt also noted that the State Department has significantly tightened the visa review process.

This move comes as U.S. immigration authorities have temporarily suspended asylum application processing, and President Donald Trump has announced plans to deport newly arrived refugees and halt immigration from so-called Third World countries.

The Secretary of State also confirmed that visa issuance for Afghan nationals has been fully suspended.
